Our history

Here at Wynstones we have been educating young people for 77 years

Established in 1937, Wynstones School is one of 34 Steiner Waldorf schools in the UK. A proven alternative to mainstream education, it is also one of the very few Steiner Waldorf schools in the country to take pupils from pre-school right through to university entrance. This means that at Wynstones, a child can enjoy a happy and secure education, free from the need to change schools.

The school is set in the beautiful Cotswolds, with 11 acres of extensive grounds. This allows for outdoor building and gardening pursuits. We provide an excellent state of the art sports hall, sports field and tennis courts.

The substantial main building provides a reassuring central point and the newer classroom blocks have been placed sensitively to create a ‘village centre’ feel – helping us to engender a sense of community for pupils, parents, teachers and staff within the school.

The alumni of the school can be found across the world in a wide range of professions. Many go on to careers in Medicine, Teaching, the Arts, Drama, Law, Sciences, Engineering and Design. Graduates from Wynstones are often entrepreneurial, forging new ground in their chosen field or setting up their own enterprises.
