Established in 1937, Wynstones is the UK's second oldest Steiner Waldorf school, and a member of the world's largest independent schools network, with over 1200 schools worldwide.
With a strong emphasis on personal development and creativity, as well as academic excellence, Steiner-Waldorf schools are also the fastest growing independent schools group in the world.
Wynstones School is set in the beautiful county of Gloucestershire, less than three hours from London. We are academically non-selective and in 2012 achieved the highest exam results at GCSE and A level of any non-selective school in the county, and were ranked 2nd of all independent schools in Gloucestershire. Steiner Waldorf pupils are also known to be among the happiest in the world!
Despite these excellent results, our fees are less than half of most British boarding schools. This is because of the strong social ethos of Steiner-Waldorf Schools and our aim to be inclusive of all human beings, irrespective of academic ability or financial background.
Wynstones has always had strong international links and in recent years we have welcomed pupils from Germany, Brazil, USA, Italy, France, Japan and China to name but a few. We regard international pupils as a great asset to our school, and from September 2014 we are offering new places in the Upper School to EU pupils aged 14 to 18. The programme includes the creative Steiner Waldorf curriculum, GCSE and A level qualifications, and English language classes.
Boarding accommodation is available with local English families whose children usually attend the school.
